Winner!! Weekly review

Hey guys! I am excited to say that Rachel M won the giveaway of the Fox and Kit packet. I hope that everyone is enjoying these. I know that my students love them and love the familiarity of the packets.

I wanted to put together a 100 follower giveaway. I am very close. If you would be interested in giving away a packet, please contact me at I am getting caught up so the blog will be getting the long needed attention!!

I'm going to add a few pictures to show a few things that we have been working on.

1. We are working on building our stamina with Read to Self.

2. We are working on shaving cream spelling. I went over this again and again with my students about the correct way to use it. STILL...I had a student come up to me with an icky face because he thought it was whipped cream lol...NOOOO :)

3.  We have been working on sentence order. Students were responsible for taking a sentence and writing it correctly before cutting it and putting it in a bag. They had to use correct capitalization and punctuation. Then, they traded with the other teams to see which team would correctly put together sentences in the correct order. They had a BLAST!

4. We had a bunny come visit to discuss fiction and non-fiction passages. THEY LOVED THIS!!!

Sick already?

Sorry that I haven't posted recently! This year is very chaotic.

On top of that...I'm sick. I'm pretty sure that I have strep. Yuck! I hope to get to the dr tomorrow. However, we have open house tomorrow night until 7. I am just not feeling good at all.

I am working on the next two units for the Reading Street story. Does anyone have any requests for the units?

I am happy that we are starting to build some routines. :) So not much posted tonight. However, I will definitely post some pics by this weekend and hopefully finish one of the packets this weekend. I am hopeful anyways!

Winner and who else but me :)

Hey guys! I am sorry that I am just now announcing the giveaway! I have had SO much going on at home.

I burnt my hand with a hot glue gun at school. (LOL YES only I could do that!!!) I left my glue gun at I borrowed another teachers. Needless to say lol I shouldn't have. That thing worked amazing. I was so impressed until it fell over knocking a glued piece onto my hand. It held on and I couldn't get it off. My hand was all blistered up! I received 2nd degree burns. It has healed mostly now. I only have like three scars so no biggie :) Thanks to my wonderful best friend Margaret for taking me to the doctor btw.

Then, the very next day my mother fell. They still haven't figured out what is going on with her leg. She can't feel it and so it caused her to fall at work and bruise and wound her head :( Please pray for her! We go BACK to the neurologist tomorrow!

On to the winner.....

I am sincerely sorry that it has taken so long to tell who the winner was. I hope that you guys enjoy the packets. I absolutely LOVE it. I can't wait to use it with my kiddos. If you would like to purchase a copy for $2, click the picture below. I hope that you enjoy!

Reading Street- Unit 1, Week 3 Short o: SCHOOL STARTS :)

FINALLY...School starts tomorrow! There is no budget in place though.  The scary part is that on Tuesday we will get our calendar and they are making teacher cuts. I have already prayed about it and it is in God's hands.

My mother- Thank you to those of you who are praying! She is not doing any better. They have the MRI back and all that they told her was that she is declining, but they feel that it is related to age. This concerns me because she is only 62. Please keep praying!

Just an update...

Hey guys! Sorry that I have slowed in posting. I just feel that I have so many things going on. I will be starting Big Blue Ox games soon.

However, the county that I live in is facing budget issues. It is a long story, but they have delayed the starting of school until further notice. We are a week and a day late starting. Our county commission meets tonight and I am praying that there is a resolve. I want to be teaching these kiddos. I have been very involved and unfortunately I have lost my motivation to create right now. I will be back VERY soon though :)

Also, my mother has lost her feeling in her left leg. I have been to many doctors appointments and specialist. We still have no answers and she is not able to walk. My focus is there for now. However, I will be back soon I promise :)

Thanks for listening! Here is a link to my first week plans should I ever go back lol:

Today is the longest day ever! I have to be at school at 7 and I get to leave around 3. I have to be back at 4:30 until 8 for Registration Night! I only have four more kiddos that are supposed to show up. I can't wait to meet them. However, I am not looking forward to such a long day.

Anyways....I am looking into number review for my kiddos for the first week. I am changing my lesson plans slightly. I created this packet so that the kids would be able to recognize numbers, number words, numbers on a ten frame, and dot patterns. I am including this as a freebie. I hope that it will be useful for you guys!
